EMPLOYEE HIRING

All prospective employees are required to complete an employment application form which includes questions regarding their medical history. Knowledge of physical problems makes it possible to provide job assignments to an employee without aggravating an existing injury or prior disability.

EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION

All new employees receive a general accident prevention orientation prior to beginning work so that good attitudes and habits can be formed at the start. The orientation, as a minimum, covers the following areas:

Objectives of accident prevention.
Employee participation in program.
General safety rules and disciplinary action procedures.
Inherent job hazards.
Use of personal protective equimpment.
Issuance of appropriate personal protection equipment.

The general superintendent follows up to ensure that the new employee understands and is practicing what he or she has been taught. A signed and dated statement indicating that the employee has read and understands the company safety policies is retained on file.

TRANSFERRED EMPLOYEE SAFETY

All transfered employees receive an accident prevention review from their new Project Superintendent to ensure they are aware of company policy and of the specific hazards and requirements of their new assignment. The same care and emphasis is exercised as in the case of newly hired employees.
